Václav Havel Airport Prague is easy to navigate, but there are a few things worth knowing before you land or set off for your flight.
Terminal 1 or Terminal 2
- Terminal 2 – flights within the Schengen area (Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands…).
- Terminal 1 – non-Schengen flights (UK, Ireland, USA, Turkey, Israel, United Arab Emirates…).
The terminals are next to each other and connected on foot. You will find the terminal number on your ticket or in your airline app; if you booked a transfer, you do not need to worry about it – the driver knows it from your flight number.
Arrival: where your driver will meet you
After landing, you will pass through passport control (non-Schengen only), collect your luggage, and exit into the arrivals hall. This is where drivers wait with name boards. Our driver will send you a WhatsApp message or SMS after you land; once you have your luggage, simply let them know. Ignore anyone offering “Taxi?” in the hall – these are not drivers with an agreed price.
Departure: how much time to allow
- Schengen – at the airport at least 2 hours before departure.
- Non-Schengen – ideally 3 hours (passport control, extra security checks for certain flights).
- Checking in online in advance and travelling with hand luggage only will save you queuing at the desk.
Getting from the airport to the city centre and back
- Transfer with driver – fixed price from 790 CZK per vehicle, driver waiting in the hall, drop-off right at your hotel. Ideal with luggage, at night, or for groups.
- Public bus to metro line A and on to the city centre; Airport Express to the main train station. Tickets can be bought from a ticket machine or paid by card.
A car journey to the city centre usually takes 30–45 minutes depending on traffic.
Good to know
- Wi-Fi at the airport is free.
- ATMs and currency exchange desks are available in both terminals; paying by card or using a bank ATM in the city is generally better value.
- If your flight is delayed or changed, you do not need to call the driver – they monitor your flight status using the flight number.
