Karlovy Vary is the easiest day trip from Prague: it is roughly 130 km away via the motorway, taking an hour and three quarters to drive. With your own driver, you leave your hotel whenever you wish and return in the same car in the evening – without transfers or keeping an eye on the last bus connection.

What to see in Karlovy Vary in a day
- Vřídlo Geyser – the most famous spring, shooting several metres into the air.
- Mill and Market Colonnades – tasting thermal waters from a porcelain spa cup, walking along the Teplá River.
- Diana Observation Tower – up by funicular in a few minutes, down on foot through the forest.
- Grandhotel Pupp and the spa promenade, traditional wafers and Becherovka for the journey back.
You can comfortably walk from Vřídlo to the colonnades and the funicular; the town is compact. If you wish, you can add a swim in a spa pool or lunch with a view – the driver will wait.
Pricing and waiting time
For day trips, you have the car and driver entirely to yourself. The price is based on the actual distance (sedan 36 CZK/km, minivan 50 CZK/km), the return journey is 50% cheaper, the first 3 hours of waiting time are free, and each additional started hour costs 250 CZK. The exact amount for your date and number of passengers is calculated in advance by the calculator; it is then fixed.
