In the 18th century a château was built, the seat of the noble family. In the 19th and 20th centuries the town grew thanks to the spa boom and the railway, which drew visitors from across the country.

Historic spa attractions right in the town center
Jurkovič’s architecture
The spa was put on the map by architect Dušan Jurkovič, whose colorful houses are decorated with folk motifs and half-timbering. This gave the whole town its one-of-a-kind fairy-tale look.
The buildings around the square resemble festive Wallachian timber cottages. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else in the Czech Republic.
Vincentka Spring
The most famous local spring, Vincentka, rises in a hall with an ornate fountain. This salty mineral water is known to help with respiratory issues.
You drink it from spa cups right at the source. It’s also bottled and sold across the country.
Luhačovice Château
Above the spa stands a Baroque château with a clock tower. It was built by the Serényi family, who once owned the entire estate.
The lords of the château were the ones who kickstarted the spa’s development. Today the château hosts cultural events.
Inhalatorium
In the functionalist Inhalatorium, respiratory tracts are still treated with Vincentka vapors. The elegant building was constructed in the 1920s.
